A New Twist On The Law of Attraction
When I got up this morning, as I often do, I immediately thought about what I wanted to write today. I could picture myself going to the library's free wireless zone and gazing somewhat thoughtfully over the stacks of books and wondering what ideas would come to mind. And, as usual as soon as I start having a conversation with myself (silently of course) I want to put pen to paper.
Keeping on with my thoughts I wondered if I could take something that interested me and put a new twist on it. And talking about twisted, I couldn't help thinking about the Law of Attraction. If you have read the Law of Attraction by Jerry and Esther Hicks you may just get the impression that they are thinking in a vacuum.
You remember your physics from school don't you. Well, in order to prove the law of gravity as defined by some famous scientist whose name escapes at the moment, you have to test it in an absolute vacuum. Something that is humanly impossible.
Another example is how Einstein proved his theory. He made a thought experiment. He imagined what would happen if a human could ride on a light beam. Yup! That is what Einstein did to prove his theory. Now just think about that a minute. Scientific proof is supposed to be hard evidence.
And oh yes he wrote an equation to show how it worked. An equation is still just scratchings on a piece of paper. Paper is real, scratchings may be real, but what they mean is still just in our imagination. The Law of Attraction uses the same idea, a thought experiment. On the other hand, it doesn't come with a mathematical equation, or even logic for that matter.
Ok, so I promised to put a new twist on the Law of attraction. Let's start with Ask and you will receive. Today I asked for 500 million dollars. I want it today. So if I imagine myself rolling in it, will it happen sooner? I know the bank is not about to give me this money.
That is the reality of life as we know it. Money was created by humans. Money is held, very tight-fistedly, by humans. Humans do not trust other humans with their money. Is it likely that I will get my bundle today?
Well, just maybe this will take a little longer than I expected. So when can I expect my bundle. If I start today it might take a year or two. How long can I maintain my focus? Let's see, party tonight, beach tomorrow and, oh yah, work.
As human beings with a penchant to slacking off, we tend to find the idea of the Law of Attraction... well, attractive. Somehow there is some magic in just imagining yourself rich. Imagine a life-style of abundance in gory detail and the loot will just pile up.
But these are just words on paper. Anyone can put words on paper. You can write anything and be believed. Some people write memoirs, many famous people have, that are totally fiction. You only get punished if you fall on the wrong side of someone like Oprah.
There is nothing wrong with writing beautiful ideas. I'm sitting here doing exactly that! And there is definitely nothing wrong with imagining how life will be when you reach the goals you set for yourself. But, you must be prepared to do whatever it takes to get to your goal.
If you really want something, nothing will stop you, nothing will stand in your way. You will not let your fears, nor your beliefs, nor your limitations or the limitations others set for you, prevent you from doing whatever it takes to get to your goal.
So get out there and be the magnetic person that you are. Imagine yourself swimming in a pool of money with your friends and family. Just remember that the work begins inside, with how you think. You will get there if you really want to. You know you can get what you want. You will get what you deserve.
