What are You Saying!

The words you choose to speak are meaningful in your mind;
but the listener hears (or reads) what the words mean to them.

You can never know exactly how your message will be received.

Everyone wants to know "What's in it for me?".

Any word can have a different meaning to someone else. For example, the word "husband" has a different meaning to a woman who has been divorced three times than to a woman who has been in the same marriage for 45 years.

We behave as though we know and understand everything and everyone. As though our thoughts must also be those of every reasonable person.

How we see the world depends on the interpretation we give our own experience. Is it helpful to project that interpretation on others?

We can not assume that we know and understand everything and everyone. We don't know what we don't know. Memories are our interpretation of the past.  We understand our interpretation of our own experiences, period.

The best we can do is to pay attention to how others react to our words and keep modifying them to get our message across.
